Whistleblowing and Protecting Yourself

If you are concerned over an issue and whether you should tell someone about it, here are some websites to help put some of it in perspective. Find out all you can without putting yourself, anyone else, or your job in jeopardy. Think of possible longterm repercussions.

Whistleblowing in its strict sense applies to concerns over one's workplace practices, but can be thought of more generally as blowing the whistle on issues of wider concern.

What should you do?

What can you do?

See the above links. More information can be found at the following, or search on Google etc.

Bear in mind that, although some organisations may make it seem a financially attractive deal for you, THEY may be in it for money or prestige. Don't put yourself or anyone else at risk by muddying the waters.

You may simply want to make sure someone else knows about something, but be careful what you say, and to whom.

We cannot guarantee the information shown in this section will suit you or your situation. All information on this Blog is offered in the hope it may help you sort out what is best in your situation. No-one can tell what the consequences of anything may be, so find out what you can before taking any action.
